Boca Raton Florida legal recruiters

There are approximately 1,000 lawyers practicing in Boca Raton at the city’s 100s of law firms, 200+ companies, or state and federal government agencies. The average Boca-based attorney earns a base salary of $94,922 while serving within a legal community that offers career enrichment opportunities through these professional organizations:

  • The Florida Bar
  • South Palm Beach County Bar Association (SPBCBA)
  • Several other local and state bar associations with membership based on race, gender, ethnicity, practice areas, or personal interests

Requirements to Practice Law

To be issued a law license in the state of Florida, you must first earn a law degree from an ABA-accredited law school and then pass the Florida bar exam. The bar exam fee is $600, and once you’ve passed the bar exam there’s an additional $1000 application fee to join the Florida Bar.

Licensed attorneys who have actively been practicing law in another U.S. jurisdiction for 10 or more years may also sit for the Florida bar exam after proving they are in good standing in their current jurisdiction. All lawyers who pass the Florida bar exam must also pass the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE) within 25 months of taking the bar exam.

To hold onto a law license in Florida, a lawyer must earn 30 hours of MCLE credits every 3 years, including 5 or more hours split between ethics, professionalism, substance abuse and mental illness awareness. Those attorneys must also report their MCLE credits to the state law examiner’s office. For more details, please visit: www.lawyeredu.org.
