Requirements to Practice Law
To be accepted to the Connecticut Bar you must first earn a J.D. from an approved law school, pay an application fee of $800 and pass the Bar Exam. All applicants must also pass the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE). Connecticut does have reciprocity agreements with most US jurisdictions and will waive the Bar Exam requirement for those applicants if certain other requirements are met. The fee for a reciprocal application is $1800.
